Off to New Zealand – North Island.

Choir 56 had a safe flight to Auckland New Zealand aboard the beautiful and entertaining Emirates airline. The children were once again filled with excitement to be on a plane again and they were particularly excited as they were able to watch their favourite cartoons and enjoy the nice meals served on board.

New Zealand welcomed Choir 56 with some cold weather and a lot of rain on our first day. When we arrived Leticia Namata, 8 years old, asked β€˜Does New Zealand have a sun?’

On our second day, Choir 56 went to the TVNZ studio where they did a live recording of two of their songs – Shine and Beautiful Africa, the theme song for the new Watoto album. TVNZ is the national television network in New Zealand and the Choir loved this opportunity to raise awareness for the work Watoto is doing. Geoffrey and Stella were interviewed on TV and, although nervous, they did a great job representing Watoto Child Care Ministries in this forum – well done!

Choir 56 then went and shared a lunch with the team at Tear Fund who Watoto partner with while in New Zealand. It was great to finally be able to meet them all and to thank them for the wonderful job they are doing around the world.

We hope that our remaining time in New Zealand will be packed full of adventure and fun and that many lives will be changed for Christ.

Keep on following Choir 56 – we believe that the best is yet to come!
