Wow it has been an exciting few weeks for Choir 72! We arrived in Australia on 29th March with 10 adults and 18 very excited children ready to kick off our 6 month tour Down Under. On the first day we were welcomed by our Watoto Australia family and spent the whole day getting to know everyone, eating together and running around in the fresh air. We were given Bibles as gifts and we ate lots of ice cream!
RYAN WITH HIS NEW BIBLE
After a few days of training and getting organised we headed off to our first performance at Easterfest, a large Christian festival in Toowoomba QLD. We were so excited to finally be performing for an audience and we were happy to meet so many new people. When we weren’t performing we had time to play and even go on the bumper cars!
Since then we have traveled to some great cities and been hosted by wonderful people. Everywhere we go people are being blessed by our new album ‘Oh, What Love’ and the message it carries. A highlight for the team was being at the Springfield Family Fun Day. We got to perform on an open air stage in front of thousands of people and spend time walking around the festival and going on the mega slide!
This morning we had a radio interview with our friends at 96Five in Brisbane. The whole choir squished into the tiny studio to have a chat and sing a few songs and afterwards the presenters sung to us! They sung ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’ which all the children knew so they joined in and we had a sing along together. It was lots of fun!
